Bio
Christi Sweeney is a former prosecutor, consumer advocate, and legal-tech innovator whose work is grounded in lived experience. She grew up with childhood poverty, experienced homelessness, and left school to help support a younger sibling. When predatory financial actors compounded those challenges, Christi learned personally how financial hardship can narrow a person’s choices—and how difficult it can be to find trustworthy help. She dug deep, built a fresh start of her own, and founded Sweeney Law so that people confronting similar challenges would not have to face them alone.
Christi developed Sweeney Law through Legal Entrepreneurs for Justice, the solo and small-firm legal incubator of the Colorado Supreme Court’s Office of Attorney Professional Excellence (APEX). From the beginning, the firm’s ethics, service models, payment options, and technology have been designed to expand access to justice for people who need meaningful legal help but may not have the resources for a traditional, full-service engagement.
Sweeney Law serves people and families facing debt that has become impossible to manage. The firm works to connect each client with the level of help that fits the client’s circumstances, whether that means full representation, limited-scope services, legal coaching, client education, or practical resources that enable the client to take informed action.
As a legal-tech innovator, Christi uses technology to provide an easier intake, fewer administrative burdens, better communication, organized information, quicker action when time matters, and a clearer understanding of the client’s case. Technology supports the attorney-client relationship; it does not replace Christi’s judgment, advocacy, or personal attention.
